Start with the station and the ingredient descriptions. In the supplied pre-release footage, you discover recipes by combining suitable materials, and successful discoveries are added to your recipe list. Build your campfire first, then use it to learn the early crafting loop.
Your first crafting session
- Follow Faustas’s early shelter objective and clear the ruined camp before gathering extra materials. The supplied gameplay shows dismantling structures returning usable resources.
- Build the tent and small campfire requested by the quest. Open the campfire interface to inspect the available recipe slots.
- Read the item descriptions for ingredient clues. Place the matching materials into the station interface and check the result before crafting.
- Keep useful ingredients after a successful discovery. The older footage shows the recipe being recorded, saving you from rediscovering it.
Why won’t the campfire craft?
Check that ingredients have actually been placed in the station’s slots. Owning an item in your bag is not the same as selecting it for a recipe. Then check the station and quantities against the recipe shown in your build. The supplied videos do not establish every failed-recipe behavior.
What should you make first?
Prioritize what keeps your next trip going: food, water and useful storage. In the footage, the campfire produces water and cooked food; later storage chests make it easier to sort materials. Save equipment experiments for when you can afford the ingredients.
Keep your workshop practical
Put materials where you can find them. One supplied later-build video demonstrates crafting from stronghold storage after the presenter initially thought it was impossible (31:49–32:10). That does not prove every chest in every location shares the same access rules. If ingredients appear missing, check your bag and the storage near the station.
